Coven of the Dragon Moon
We are an eclectic teaching coven, based out of Hudson, FL with the three degree system. Each person is eligible to advance to the next degree a year in a day after dedication or the previous degree. All Coveners are trained to the level of high priestess or priest. Whether or not one chooses to stay with Dragon Moon or hive off is up to them.
Students of any level are welcome to petition the coven. First, the phone call between HPS or HP and petitioner will take place. All parties concerned will be able to get information regarding spiritual studies. Second, a meeting between the HPS and HP and petitioner would take place. All potential students will speak with either or both HPS and HP to discuss how our coven works, what the petitioner's knowledge of level is and to get a feel for the energies concerned. During the initial phone conversation, we will suggest you get a book that we use in our training, the more initiative to show the better off you are. You will be on your own for the first few chapters, and have questions to answer at the end of each chapter. When you feel that you are ready to be tested on the first few chapters, you'll meet with the HPS and HP. At that time we can go over any questions you might have, or we may have, allowing us time to feel the energy between all parties concerned and basically get to know each other better. We will then go over the lessons you've completed and make a decision whether we're going to take you into our Covenstead. If it is both our decision and yours to join the Coven of Dragon Moon, you will be asked if you want to dedicate. This would require a commitment of a Year and a day.
The HPS and HP use various teaching methods. Together, we work through books approved by the HP/HPS we do hands-on and day-to-day lessons. We also heavily concentrated on self-growth or another words, life lessons. We believe that in order to live as a well rounded functional person, as well as a witch, our issues and obstacles need to be recognized owned and dealt with. Always remember a witch's only as good his or her word.
We all help each other recognized and work through our problems. They are put out on the table gently, for all to recognize and respect, so that when they come out, we can help each other deal with and work through them.
This is a very important part of our education in the Coven of the Dragon Moon. Clearing away these blocks improves our spiritual growth.
When any kind of problem arises in the coven, we call pow-wows to discuss and solve the issue. By having these emergency meetings and dealing with the issues at hand, we keep it from getting worse and destroying the perfect love and perfect trust factor we have as a coven.
We meet on all new and full moons, as well as all the Sabbats. We try to gather all Daughter Covens to meet with the Mother Coven (Us) Here in Florida or meet in Salem, MA. for Samhain. If going to Salem, we attend an open circle, upon Gallows Hill, held by Temple of nine wells, and a ritual feast held by Web, both on October 31st.
Coven meeting dates and times are discussed an agreed-upon as a group. Each persons schedule is considered and we very rarely have a problem finding a day in time everyone can agreed-upon.
We are serious coven, but we also love to have fun. We are not extremely strict. If you're looking for coven that you can belong to and worship, learn and have fun than Dragon Moon just might be for you.
No one is perfect if you cannot laugh and enjoy life, and what's the point?
